Save Your Change Effort from Food Pyramid Vagueness

Find out why the problems that plague the USDA food pyramid could be affecting your attempts at change.

When you want to script the critical moves, you can’t assume those moves are obvious. In today’s video, I show an example from the book “Switch: How to Change Things When Change Is Hard” of what happens when you forget this fact. The U.S. government food pyramid uses language and concepts that don’t match people’s everyday experience, like recommending the number of teaspoons of oil to consume each day. Watch the video to see an example of a rule of thumb that is far more clear and actionable.
